Description

Does taking precise measurements and accurately recording data about Earth fascinate you? Interstate Engineering has an entry-level position for you! We can take you off-road throughout our regionally based firm. You will perform typical land surveying-related work, including construction staking, cadastral, boundary, ALTA, and topography.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to analyze deeds, certificates of survey, subdivision plats, and other survey records
  • Knowledge of the Public Land Survey System
  • Knowledge of the BLM Manual
  • Familiar with GLO field notes and plats
  • Understanding of construction staking, cadastral, boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveying
  • Organize field staking materials as necessary
  • Competent with Survey Equipment, GPS, and Total Station
  • Attention to detail, maintaining accurate data files and field notes
  • Familiar with Trimble survey equipment and software
  • Maintain productive working relationships with co-workers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble equipment and software is desired but not required.
  • Experience in Land Surveying or Associates Degree in Land Surveying
  • The ability to work in a team atmosphere or independently as directed
  • Proficient in written documentation
  • Willingness to travel and work outside.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Some travel
  • Some overtime
  • Some overnight travel

Physical Demands:

  • Required to work in an outdoor environment including construction sites and in close proximity to traffic, noise, various weather conditions, dust, and dirt.
  • Walk over uneven terrain of up to 1 mile.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
