Job Title: Facility Construction Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

West Penn Energy Services LLC is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Facility Construction Equipment Operator to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment to support the construction, maintenance, and repair of natural gas facilities, including compressor stations, meter stations, and related infrastructure. The position will be based in the Pennsylvania region but requires overnight travel while on projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders to perform earthmoving, grading, trenching, and material handling.
  • Assist in the construction and maintenance of facility infrastructure, including foundation work, trench excavation, site prep, and backfilling.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
  • Follow company and regulatory safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and boots.
  • Work closely with site supervisors and laborers to ensure efficient and precise execution of construction tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any on-site issues.
  • Assist with site cleanup and restoration to meet environmental and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in facility construction, industrial construction, or pipeline work (required).
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and job specifications.
  • Understanding of grading, excavation, backfilling, and compaction techniques.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel overnight for extended periods while on a project.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Certifications in equipment operation and safety training (e.g., OSHA 10/30, NCCER,PEC) (preferred).

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor and industrial work environments in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Remote job site work, including overnight travel during projects.
  • Physically demanding tasks, such as climbing, lifting, and long hours of equipment operation.
  • Extended hours and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and at varying heights.
  • Must be capable of performing manual labor when required.
